Binary Boy
house/breakbeat liveact and musicproduction

In a nutshell

Binary Boy aka Jakob Seeber performs with his colleague multiinstrumentalist and singer Arno Grußendorf his own compositions using live drums, synths and bass.
Soundwise one finds influences from house producers such as Jovonn, Mall Grab or DJ Boring, as well as a note of UK garage and drum'n'bass that cannot be overheard. The guys also let themselves be inspired by German electro band pioneers like Kuf or Comfort Rauschen for their live performance.
Jakob has absorbed the concept of electronically sounding live drums like no other and leaves no sticking patterns unused on his stacked cymbals to drive the beat forward. Arno Grußendorf alternates between funky bass guitar as well as good old Ableton and here and there contributes some catchy vocals. The two young producers exclusively perform their own creations. Crunchy voice samples, jazzy chord rhythms, tasty basslines and spectacular build ups lay the foundation for a partly meticulously rehearsed, partly freely improvised live show that gets techno-bored party connoisseurs at the core.
